How Does JailATM Work?

With the use of JailATM services, you’re allowed to send an inmate an email, send money, schedule a video call and send gift packs. Through JailATM, you can also add funds to inmates. So far, JailATM is one of the fastest and easiest ways to send money to inmates and make a purchase for inmates.

JailATM can be mentioned as a bridge to facilitate inmates’ family or friends to do the things including:

1) Sending money

With JailATM, sending money can be done as quickly as possible, as the money you send will immediately be received by an inmate, as long as their credit card has been processed. To deposit funds, you can take advantage of a lobby ATM using the accepted cards including VISA, Discover credit, MasterCard or bank debit card. To send money, you will be charged by the different costs, depending on the facility. Any additional cost may be determined by the correctional facility.

2) Sending email

Through JailATM, you can also send an email to an inmate. Before doing this, you will need to create a JailATM account first. To send an email, you can be charged $0.50 per message and an inmate will then be able to reply to your email.

To use JailATM messaging service, you may need to add funds for subscription first. After adding funds to your account, each email you send will be deducted from your messaging credits. There are some options to add funds including $5, $10 or $20.

3) Take a video session

A video visitation allows you and your loved one in prison to virtually connect in real-time. To take a video session, you will be charged by $0.40 per minute with a duration of 15 minutes for each video visitation. You will need to schedule first before taking a video session with JaiLATM.

To take a video visitation, it will work perfectly if you use a home computer or laptop and make sure to check anything to avoid any trouble happening during video call. If your device cannot connect to take a video session, it may not be compatible with JailATM video visitation.

4) Sending gift packs

With JailATM, you can send inmates their favourite snacks and special gifts, called Commissary Packs. This service allows you to provide an allowance to an inmate without making a deposit that can only be used for commissary and won’t be added to the inmate’s commissary account.

Before sending gift packs to an inmate, you will need to choose the state and facility where an inmate is housed. Make sure to select the proper inmate you’d like to send gift packs. Then, you can place your order and make your purchase from the JailATM store available.
