Bedford Hills Correctional Facility is a facility for women. In New York State, Bedford Hills Correctional Facility is the largest women’s prison. Inmates who are incarcerated with general confinement status and inmates who are incarcerated with initial reception who have been in the facility for a total of 30 days can be visited in an unlimited number on weekdays. If the inmates with reception status have been incarcerated in the facility less than 30 days, they can only be visited on weekends, but of course visitors need to check the visiting calendar as explained earlier since it is conducted on weekends.

In a visit, inmates cannot be visited by too many visitors because the maximum number of visitors in a visit is 3 visitors and one child under 5 years old.

What will happen if the visiting room is very crowded? If the visiting room contains the maximum capacity in progress, namely 20 visits or 92 people, the officer will announce that the visiting room is full. The officer may end the visits by firstly asking some of them to end it voluntarily. If there are no visitors who want to end their visit voluntarily, then the officer will ask the first visitor to end their visit. However, if you come from a very far location, especially with small kids, and then the visiting room is full, the commander may give special consideration for you.
